His achievement followed a highly decorated military career and service to the business community as an accountant and auditor. He previously earned a Master of Science degree in accounting from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science degree in international business from Strayer University, the latter achieved during his military service.

Mitt is a highly decorated veteran of the United States Army and United States Marine Corps, earning the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service, and the Army Commendation medals. He reached the rank of captain, twice serving as a commander in battle. He was called upon to lead highly complex, sensitive missions and with his advanced strategic and tactical expertise, he developed and managed complex processes to secure intel about and defeat enemies.
